It’s week four on this home rehab project in east St. Paul. Since our last visit, volunteer crews have finished framing the windows and patched the roof so it’s watertight; it will later be replaced. Subcontractors have finished roughing-in the HVAC and electrical systems and the plumbing has been replaced.
Last week, volunteers from Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP (Maslon Law Firm) worked hard on the Case Avenue site. This week, volunteers from Blue Cross & Blue Shield have finished insulating the home, added a vapor barrier and are starting to sheetrock. AmeriCorps Construction Volunteer Facilitator said it is hoped they will finish the windows yet this week.
“Blue Cross Blue Shield is a good crew to have; they have lots of people,” she said.
