Twin Cities Habitat is building ten homes in the Southwest Metro this year and we need all the volunteers we can get to help the families buying those homes. That's why the partnership with Prime Therapeutics - who is sponsoring two weeks of workcamps and supplying volunteers on one of the homes in Savage - is so valuable.
"Prime Therapeutics is a growing company with strong ties to Minnesota," says Kate Loe, who is Senior Manager for Corporate and Volunteer Development at Twin Cities Habitat. "The company has done a lot to support the communities where its customers and employees live."
Prime Therapeutics has been working with Twin Cities Habitat for several years. Its employees even volunteered alongside the anchors and reporters from KARE 11 on a home in Ramsey back in 2008. Along with helping build in Savage this summer they'll also be doing repair work through the A Brush with Kindness program.
The day I visited them, the Prime Therapeutics volunteers were hanging and cutting drywall for one of four Habitat homes going in on Hampshire Avenue this summer. Down the street, Ryland Homes, and its construction partners, are building a home as part of the Habitat for Humanity 2012 Builders' Blitz. Next door, the foundation is being prepared for the third home.
