National Women Build Week 2016

For this summer’s Women Build home, we were able to open up dates for women to help us build the foundation of the home. During the first week - Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22, individuals helped to build the walls of the foundation. We used the Reward Wall System, so it was like putting together a set of giant Legos. By the end of the week, volunteers took turns pouring the concrete into the form.
During the second week of work we had the help of three teams to cap the foundation – Special thanks to the leaders of these teams – Kari Suter Woodson, Connie Boltinghouse and Rebekah Forrest. The photos above from the second week are from Connie and her team.
Thanks to the help from all of our early volunteers, we were able to have the foundation ready for the Wall raising on June15th.
