Home Dedications filled with Gratitude

The month of February wraps up with three wonderful Habitat Home Dedications.
On Thursday, February 8, homeowner Assefa and his two daughters celebrated their accomplishments in their new St. Paul Park home. The dedication was filled with joy and laughter as Assefa’s youngest daughter, Ruth, played hide-and-seek with a friend.
The fun continued Thursday, February 15, when Habitat volunteers, sponsors, and family members celebrated two Habitat homeowners. Homeowner Kaw and her family hosted the party in their new St. Paul home. “We are so glad to meet you all and are excited tonight to have a dedication service,” said Kaw.
The second family, Tekele and Shushan, have a home located in Roseville. “We are very happy. Thank you for this program and thank you for providing hope for our family,” said Tekele.
The hosting home was sponsored by Travelers Insurance and representative Laura Lundin was thrilled to see Kaw in her new home: “Kaw, I know this is a long time coming. We are so excited for your family.”
The final dedication of the month took place on Saturday, February 17. The home filled with volunteers from the 3Mgives crew, two homebuying families, and many excited kids. The hosting couple, Hassan and Leila, had their six kids attend the dedication. Their oldest son spoke on their behalf, and shared his worry of growing up in a home that was not big enough for their growing family: "I was happy when I would have more siblings, but I would think 'what are we going to do?'" He continued on to say that this new home would be the perfect fit.
Site Supervisor Zack Zoul works on a lot of homes with the 3Mgives crew. "They do this work with bizarre enthusiasm no matter the conditions," said Zack.
The 3Mgives volunteer coordinator, Lou Cristan, loved seeing the finished home. "I had the privilege of volunteering with you [the family]. We hope you enjoy telling jokes and sharing stories in this new home. It was a fun experience doing the build."
Congratulations to the homeowners this month! May each of you have happiness and comfort in your new home.
