Veteran gets A Brush with Kindness on National Day of Service
Across America, September 11th has become a day to volunteer and give back to your community.
#Give4Vets
We are having another Twitter Chat! In honor of Veteran's Day, our new recognition as a Yellow Ribbon Company and Give to the Max Day, we will be discussing Veterans and housing. Join us on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 11am-12pm. Tweet your questions and/or comments about Veterans, Veterans and housing, etc. to @tchabitat during this time. Our panel of Veterans, including Trista Matascastillo, Stacey Hunt and Brian Cihacek will answer your questions! See directions on how to participate below.
Also, please consider making a donation to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. We have a matching donation of $15,000 this year, so if you’ve never donated to Twin Cities Habitat before, now is the best time to do it! We’re focusing our efforts this winter on raising money to build and repair homes for Veterans in need.
How to participate in the chat:
Important glossary for Twitter (via Support at Twitter)
Twitter handle: A username someone has selected
Retweet: A Tweet by another user, forwarded to you by someone you follow. Often used to spread news or share valuable findings on Twitter.
@: The @ sign is used to call out usernames in Tweets, like this: Hello @Twitter! When a username is preceded by the @ sign, it becomes a link to a Twitter profile.
Hashtag: The #symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It helps categorize messages.
Participate via E-mail: Don’t have Facebook or Twitter? No problem! You can e-mail your questions to Brittany.Richardson@tchabitat.org either before or during the event. We will be monitoring e-mail as well and post your questions to Twitter. We will also make sure to e-mail an answer back to you.
Your gift unlocks bright futures! Donate now to create, preserve, and promote affordable homeownership in the Twin Cities.
