Twin Cities Habitat Announces Change in Board Leadership at Annual Dinner

MINNEAPOLIS, February 17, 2010 –Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors gathered yesterday evening amid influential supporters and prominent partners at the organization’s annual dinner. At this time, departing board members were recognized for their time and service to the organization and new board members were introduced and announced into term.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to our board members for their extraordinary service,” said Susan Haigh, president of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “Each and every board member brings substantial passion and a unique background to help achieve our ambitious goals. We are positioned for significant leaps this year because of their presence.”

The Board of Directors and organization leadership meet bi-monthly to carry out Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s strategic plan, mission and vision. A recent topic includes the widespread foreclosure crisis significantly impacting the Twin Cities.

“The complex foreclosure scenario weighs heavy on many minds, demanding we act now,” said Susan Haigh, president of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “Twin Cities Habitat, among others, continues to play a pivotal role in addressing the dire issue and determining viable solutions for neighborhood revitalization.”

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors includes 26 individuals from varied industries committed to creating and sustaining affordable housing solutions and strong neighborhoods.

Departing board members: Jack Frangipane, Board Secretary, Medtronic; Paul Fate, CommonBond Communities; Jacqueline King, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis; Repa Mekha, Nexus Community Partners and Susan Vento, Education Minnesota.

New board members: Dale Fehrenbach, Cargill Inc.; Rich Gammill, Black River Asset Management; Rick Lancaster, Great River Energy; Barry Mason, IBM Corporation; John Mulligan, Target Corporation; Peter Myers, Meyers Communication Group, LLC and Mary Schumacher, Andersen Corporation.

Darla O’Donnell, current board member, UnitedHealth Group will assume the role of Board Secretary.
