Election day is upon us! Please be sure to vote because housing is an election issue and it is important that you make your voice heard.
Housing is growing as an election issue. A national survey by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars found that 62 percent of voters rated the importance of homeownership as a 10 on a scale of 0-10 and the majority of respondents also believed that increasing homeownership should be a national priority.
Be sure after election day to reach out to the elected candidates in your area. Ask them if housing is one of their priorities. If it's not, tell them why it should be and let them know you can be a resource. If you need talking points or information to share with your elected officials, do not hesitate to contact us at advocate@tchabitat.org
With your vote, you can help to ensure that housing-related public policy is a priority during the legislative session! If you are interested in getting further involved in educating elected officials about the legislative session, consider becoming a Legislative Ambassador.
