Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity : 8:13 AM on January 18, 2018
Our leaders in Washington are currently discussing immigration and, as an organization that values Equity and Inclusion, we are compelled to raise our voice at this time.
We affirm the humanity inherent in every person – regardless of their place of birth or the color of their skin.
We value the diversity of the families we partner with and the people we employ.
We acknowledge that our success is because of our diversity, not in spite of it.
Approximately half of the families that have purchased Twin Cities Habitat homes in recent years have roots in Ethiopia, Somalia, or Eritrea. We’re proud to have staff members with ties to Liberia, Somaliland, Togo, and many more nations; each person’s unique cultural experiences and wisdom make us stronger. Globally, we are honored to partner with Habitat affiliates in Haiti and Ethiopia.
The diversity of families who partner with us and of individuals who work here adds value to our state and brings us closer to the “Beloved Community” and the dream that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. laid out for us 50 years ago.
If you are passionate about this, please let your elected officials know.
Your gift unlocks bright futures! Donate now to create, preserve, and promote affordable homeownership in the Twin Cities.
