With this winter’s record-setting low temperatures, many A Brush With Kindness partner families face critical hurdles in their effort to stay in their homes. With the help of our generous corporate partners like the locally owned company Warners’ Stellian, we can continue our work in local communities to ensure even more low-income families stay in their homes.
One of the homeowners that received help as the result of the Warners' Stellian in-kind appliance donation was Jennifer Payton, a disabled low-income homeowner in Richfield. She applied to Twin Cities Habitat's A Brush With Kindness program because the burners on her twenty-year-old range had stopped working, leaving her with only a microwave to prepare meals. Thanks to the generosity of Warners’ Stellian, A Brush With Kindness was able to deliver a much newer, fully functioning range to her.
“It’s so nice to have a working stove again!” she said, “I feel much safer knowing there are no short circuits in this one.”
Pat Lund, A Brush With Kindness program founder and director, went on to say:
”The donation of stoves from Warner Stellian was crucial for the health and stability of our families to now be able to cook a hot meal.”
