The impact of 20+ years of affordable homeownership

For our final post in this year’s #Thankful Thursday series, we wanted to send a thank you to all of our Twin Cities Habitat families. Without their faith, patience, and dedication to our process, requirements, and trainings, our programs would not be the huge successes they are today.
To date, we’ve worked with over 7,000 families through our Homeownership, A Brush With Kindness, and Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention services and programs. This year, the 1,000th family purchased a Twin Cities Habitat home – that is truly a wonderful reason to be thankful this season!
Our Habitat homeowners are required to attend 20 hours of homeowner training sessions, and log between 300 and 500 sweat equity hours to support Habitat builds, rehabs, and the ReStore in New Brighton. Their excitement and upbeat attitudes are contagious on the work sites, and a number of these families work with and support Habitat even after moving into their homes. Their new home mortgages also contribute to the building of future Habitat homes, which along with support from our donors and sponsors, helps us fund projects year after year.
Help us continue to connect and work with these well-deserving families. Consider making a donation today!
