Running for Home
Guest Blog by Pam Johnson and Blake MacKenzie It takes a lot of motivation and dedication to be a runner—especially when you want to run a marathon...
If you've ever volunteered on a Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity site you know getting a picture is part of the experience. You've got to get that shot of you in a hard hat with a hammer or running a circular saw so the people at work or in your church believe that you actually are handy.
Why are we doing this? We want everyone to see the great people who make Habitat happen everyday. The volunteers who come out to our sites and put in the sweat equity deserve all the credit we can heap on them. So a little social media photo exposure seems like a good place to start conversations with "Do you know I won this shirt with my picture taking prowess...")
So remember, next time you're on site keep an eye out for great shots and have that smartphone handy. Be safe and make sure your pictures are fully OSHA compliant :)

There are lots of ways to volunteer with Women Build and we need women with all sorts of skills. As always with Habitat - no construction experience...
Volunteering is an activity that leaves you with a feeling of accomplishment. Whether you are building something, doing people-to-people...
