The professional builders at Ryland Homes did some serious volunteering and donating this summer. Ryland Homes, along with its construction partners, built an entire home for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity in Savage.
The project was part of Habitat’s nationwide Home Builders Blitz 2012 which is a partnership between Habitat affiliates and America’s building community. The 2012 goal was to use the talents of building professionals to build or restore more than 200 homes in 100 different communities around the country.
Twin Cities Habitat estimates that Ryland Homes and its construction partners contributed $145,000 worth of materials, labor and waived fees towards the home.
“Habitat embodies a lot of the characteristics that have helped Ryland Homes grow into the builder that it is,” said Mike DeVoe, Division President of the Twin Cities for Ryland Homes. “This partnership makes a lot of sense. Both Habitat and Ryland are focused on putting families into quality homes that deliver a lot of value and keep maintenance and energy costs down.”Ryland Homes is the eighth largest builder in the country, having closed 3,664 homes in 2011. In the company’s 45-year history it’s built 295,000 homes around the country.
“We are excited to partner with builders and engage them in our work to help families in need of affordable housing,” said Jonathan Reckford, Habitat for Humanity International CEO. “By sharing their talents and skills with us, we are able to increase our capacity to help transform communities. We thank the builders for their commitment and dedication to making Home Builders Blitz 2012 a success.”Your gift unlocks bright futures!
