Calling all women! Be a part of Women Build this summer

Calling all women! Be a part of Women Build this summer

There are lots of ways to volunteer with Women Build and we need women with all sorts of skills. As always with Habitat - no construction experience required!

Top 5 reasons to join Women Build:

1. Learn something new - Our Volunteer Facilitators are great teachers. Whether you've never picked up a hammer or you've built your own log cabin entirely by yourself, we'll find a spot for you. You'll leave each day knowing something new.

2. Meet great friends - Women Build volunteers come from all different backgrounds. They're business leaders and community leaders. They're mothers and college students. They're skilled professionals and first-time volunteers. But they all share a dedication to Habitat's mission of eliminating poverty housing in the Twin Cities.

3. Help a family - There are lots of qualified families waiting to buy Habitat homes in the Twin Cities. Kids that grow up in safe, decent homes are healthier and do better in school. The more homes we build, the more hard-working families can build better futures for themselves.

4. Strengthen your community - Giving back with your time, money and energy is the best way to say thank you for all the blessings you have in your life. Each stable home makes a difference in revitalizing Twin Cities neighborhoods ravaged by the housing crisis. Habitat homeowners pay taxes, work in their community, send their kids to local schools and maintain their homes well.

5. Have fun getting fit - Working on a construction site you'll burn an extra 250-300 calories an hour. And it's way better than running on a treadmill!
