Irving Ave North - Minneapolis

fuzz 11This is only the second week that volunteers have been working on site at Irving Ave, but a lot has been accomplished already. Framing and insulation are complete, and this week volunteers are putting up sheetrock on the ceilings and walls. They have also been doing a lot of work outside and have constructed the scaffolding which creates easy access to all parts of the external walls. Volunteers today have been prepping the outside of the home for the large task of adding siding.

fuzz22Volunteer crews continue to make steady progress on this home rehab project. With a great crew working diligently outside, the siding is almost complete. On the inside of the

home volunteers have also been busy completing the mudding and taping for the walls. The next task on deck will be painting those walls and installing the flooring. Once volunteers finish the floors and walls, they will head back outside to build the back porch.

fuzz33The home on Irving Ave. North has come a long way since our last visit. This week volunteers were working on painting the exterior of the house and are very close to finishing. Site supervisor McKinsie said it should only take another day or two to wrap up and then they will be able to take down the scaffolding. Inside, the crew has been working on installing and framing the doors on the second floor. The kitchen cabinets are all in, and volunteers have begun laying the flooring for the main level.
