Holy Hammers completing exterior work on Frogtown build
It’s week three on this two-story new home construction in Frogtown, and exterior work is moving at a frenzied pace.
As Week 5 begins on Edmund Avenue, the Holy Hammers are starting to hang drywall and painting the outside of the home a country blue. In front of the house, the scaffolding is down and the gas line is being hooked up.
Later this week, volunteers will tackle the front porch, and the basement floor will be poured.
“At this point we have work to do indoors and outdoors, so even if it rains, we have options,” said Site Supervisor Rhonda Thorson. She said the framing and insulation inspections are also complete.
The Holy Hammers, a volunteer group whose members attend more than a dozen area churches, are sponsoring a 10-week build on this St. Paul home.
